The Acaciana was the brain-child of now R W Bro. Michael Jenkyns, Grand Historian. It was published for a similar reason as The Twig of Acacia. The intent was the keep the brethren updated on lodge activities and general information that might not be covered in the summons. R W Bro Michael Jenkyns was far more involved in this publication during his year as Worshipful Master of Acacia Lodge in 1999-2000.
The Twig of Acacia was started by Worshipful Bro. Stuart Campbell, Worshipful Master of Acacia Lodge 1987-88. He was also the father of Worshipful Bro. Doug Campbell. He and R W Bro. Gerry MacDonald, District Deputy Grand Master of Ottawa District One 1976 to 1977 and the long-time Secretary at Acacia, put together a newsletter to keep the members informed about activities at Acacia. It was designed to supplement the Summons, which at times has limited readership. The publication was not regular but rather as information and activities within the lodge warranted.
The history of Acacia can not be accurately told without a look at their many writings. The brethren of Acacia have written articles, speeches, letters and academic papers all in support of Freemasonry. Here, you will find a collection of these writtings.
